If it's between orange and sky then I would stick with sky as orange will charge you £60 to convert your line back to the BT infristructute.

Sounds good. I work on orange's landline department. If you place an order, somebody from the department will call you to arrange an engineer. Just double check that the charge will not be applied

The service has improved since they started using BT network again.

They have also moved their customer support to uk call centres.

Only downside about orange is the installation time but I suppose most providers have this problem.

You will get an engineer appointment for your landline to be activated (dates depend on demand for engineers in your area) and then around 7-10 days afterwards for the broadband.

If you do place an order .. Call 02890446574 the following day and get the engineer booked. Saves waiting for the call from orange and speed things up a little.

I am currently with Sky myself and pay £7.50 unlimited internet and around £12 phone line with unlimited calls including abroad anytime. I get speeds around 10MB but I am thinking of leaving as I want to start streaming films in HD not sure if it is really worth paying the extra and got to speeds of around 60MB.

I'm thinking of going to orange. Good deal: vouchers, wireless router, unlimited downloads and reduced mobile charge. I'm currently with TT and have been waiting for Orange to take over the line without excessive charges. Looks like the time has come!

Let's know how it goes.

I've got an Orange mobile contract so you get £5 off the broadband a month (not sure how long this deal will last).
The cheapest package is £13.50 for line rental and £10 for unlimited broadband (£5 after discount), this includes free UK calls from 7am-7pm which I wont use. The sales lady said there isn't even a fair usage policy on this so unless you're downloading constantly 24/7 then they probably wont bother you.
Plus it was only £60 connection fee compared to BT's £130.

Not a bad deal I say.

Moving from plusnet because speeds were slow to start with but varied wildly throughout the day.

If ur order broadband and phone from BT the connection should be free.

With orange, the £60 charge can be halved to £30 if you say you don't want to pay it.

After placing your order you will get a call from a department called NLP, ask them about the charge.

(work there)

Personally I would not touch orange or talk talk. Traffic shaping and very, very poor CS.

I have found this website to be an excellent reference point.
