Question for ISF Calibrators familiar with the Samsung 'R7' Series

I'm about to attempt my first calibration of my Samsung LE32R72B (With the HCFR software and an Eye-One NT). I've worked out where I need to make the adjustments etc, I'm just stuck with one problem...
I've found out how to adjust the backlight in the Service menu under:

8. Adjust
2. Ana_Dim_Max

But, unfortunately this setting will not save when you exit the menu. And it has approximately 100 different levels of brightness!! i.e. Not Energy Saving 'Low', 'Medium' or 'High'...
So, my next problem is finding the exact 'Ana_Dim_Max' Backlight setting that matches the user setting of 'Energy Saving High'/medium.
And thus in doing so I will be able to adjust all of my parameters from the the Service menu, instead of going back and forth.
Or would it just be easier to calibrate from the SM fully, with a maxed out backlight, then go back to the user menu, drop the backlight, take a reading and then make further adjustments... Jeez this stuff gets complicated!

Should I just measure the omitted light whilst set to 'Energy saving high' in the user menu, then switch to the SM and scroll through the many levels until they match? Therefore allowing me to calibrate fully from the service menu? Has anyone already done this, and knows what the SM equivalent levels are?

What would an ISF calibrator do faced with this situation?! Help!

I haven't worked on this series, but this strategy sounds sensible to me...
It shouldn't take you toooo long to find which setting matches Energy Save High. Use a bisection method: start with number 50. Say that's too high, try 25; if that's too low try 37 etc. You'll get there in 6 or 7 shots.

Of course after calibration, double-check the overall results in user mode. You can't leave anything to chance

Thanks for taking the time Ian, it's appreciated! I'll use the method you describe.

Let us know how it goes.
Maybe once you're done you could post the 'Ana-Dim-Max' settings equivalent to the 3 power-saving modes. I'm sure that'd be appreciated by anyone else who has the joy of navigating this service menu
