Calibration for each source?

In the FAQ on ISF calibration I read that many factors influence the output on a screen among which is the source. Does this mean that an ISF calibration should be done for each source?

Re: Calibration for each source?

Hi,

Yes.

differences between say dvd/bluray and analogue sources like television can be quite different. Color and sharpness for example.

Re: Calibration for each source?

Hi D65,

Thanks for your reply. From my own experience I already thought so as well, however, some doubts were raised when I posted the same question on a dutch forum.
vraag over calibratie

Now I know where to ask when I want my future 5090 calibrated

Nuit,

Always nice to see a dutch guy on the forums.

The pioneers are great panels to calibrate.

Re: Calibration for each source?

I agree,...the Pioneers (especially Pro Elite's) are truly amazing displays. I heard a rumour Pioneer is not going to make displays anymore.

Can any1 comment or know if this is true??

Cheers

Re: Calibration for each source?

yes it's true. They are pulling out of the display market as they are losing money hand over fist.

Re: Calibration for each source?

Kind of ironic if you ask me...

I'm sure other manufacturers are losing money also. Pioneer have always been "pioneers" in the flat panel(plasma) market.

Real shame.
