Advice needed on possible furture calibration

Hi all

I've only just bought all my home cinema gear, this includes: -

Onkyo 876
Pioneer 5090
Sky HD
Sony BDPS350

I understand that I'll need to run the equipment in for a couple of hundred hours first. But in the mean time I'll be putting money aside so I can get things calibrated.

What I want to ask is (and it's probably asked a lot), is it worth calibrating my TV, and will I get some great results?

Any ISF recommendations in or around Wigan / Liverpool / Southport?

Cheers

Yes it's worth calibrating your screen. The Pioneers have good tools in them for calibrators to get accurate results from them

Hello Sabotaj

Calibrating your system does pay off and is the only way* to get the full benefit of your kit.

Gordon who has posted above would be a good place to start in your search for a highly experience calibration engineer - see Convergent AV - Audio / Visual / Consultancy - Calibration

Joe

*Unless you fancy investing way too much time and money to learn to calibrate yourself!!!

Hi there,

If you're still looking for a calibrator, I am based in Yorkshire and could easily travel to your area. The Pioneer Kuro screens calibrate very nicely.

Re: Advice needed on possible furture calibration

Calibration is a MUST - I went down the DIY route, for cost and out of interest in learning more about the subject.

I have poured more than 40 hrs, and £130 to calibrate my TV. It is 100% better than before I started, and I enjoyed doing it.

The Professionals (who responded to my posts) certainly know their subject, and have a vast experience of the Pioneers, will get the best out of your TV. And I would recommend you take the time off to watch the process, and decide for yourself. But don't mess about, get it calibrated, and then enjoy...
