Amp/TV calibration

I have an Onkyo amp 876 which is ISF certified, I am also looking to get the panasonic 58"v10 which has THX mode which is pretty close according to the reviews.
Would calibrating make much difference, how does the ISF on the amp work, do you set it all up through the amp?
I am looking to get the TV early next year, I was also looking in to the new PF12 panel but the processing in the TV/amp is pretty good so I don't think I would gain much by buying the panel, and also the V10 is a lot more family friendly having freesat etc. Any opinions?

Re: Amp/TV calibration

The ISF calibration tools in the amp are just a repeat of those in a tv sets user or service menu. I wouldn't bother with them. I have calibrated a Panasonic with THX mode and it as more accurate after ISF than it was before on THX mode.

The new Panny TV's are nice but I still prefer the commercial panels. Hope this is some use

Thanks gordon. The PV500 you did is still going but I am torn between the PF12 and the V10.
The V10 has THX mode and is also has Freesat which makes it tempting (and wife friendly). Will my amp do a pretty good job for a panel, it is supposed to have a decent chip in it (HQV Reon-VX video processing)

I am swaying back towards the panel at the moment but I would like to hear comparisons when they come out.
