LX5090 - Requires ISF Calibration

I'm near heathrow and require an ISF guy to sort out me tv !

I was wondering though ive read on these forms that with plasmas the best thing to do when their new is to "burn them in", not exactly sure what this is but from what ive gathered its simply having the brightness and contrast levels on low for a certain period of time (any further elaboration much appreciated).

Yeah so do I need to wait a while before i can get it ISF calibrated? Or can I like still get it calibrated and simply turn down the brightness and contrast on one of the other picture modes unaffected by the ISF calibration.

Also I know the ISF calibrated picture modes get locked so there is no accidental alterations from the reading ive done but is it only one mode that becomes ISF calibrated or all of them?

Thanks

J

Re: LX5090 - Requires ISF Calibration

isf calibration can, if you wish, create a new "locked" preset. In fact it can create two new locked presets, named ISF DAY and ISF NIGHT...however you should think of them as ISF A and ISF B modes rather than night and day modes.

It's suggested to wait about 100Hrs to wear in the plasma electroncis and phosphors.

You can do this by turning down the CONTRAST, not brightness.

The ISFmodes are independant per input. ie, ISF Night for Input 1 can be different for ISF Night for Input 2....

When you think you are close to 100hrs then just contact one of the ISF guys on the forum to arrange a calibration....
p.s. I am near Heathrow too.....

Re: LX5090 - Requires ISF Calibration

Oh and btw will the fact that I don't have an av reciever/amp yet but intend to get one in the future where I'll be running all my sources through it and have only one HDMI cable running between it and the TV affect anything?

I only ask because you said that settings for ISF A/B can be different for different inputs......

I'd expect that the amp should not alter the signal it passes through.
Contrast to somewhere between 25 and 30 ish

Hi Woody,

You are within reach of several ISF calibrators including me. PM me if you'd like info on pricing etc.

Cheers,
Iain
