Isf callibration Panasonic G10

Hi everyone,
Just thinking about getting my 42" Panny G10 calibrated, just a couple of questions though, firstly my tv is only seven weeks old will it void my waranty and secondly if my tv developes a fault and needs to be replaced within the waranty does the person callibrating it tell you the settings they have used so as to apply them to the replacement.or will you have to get the replacement calibrated Many thanks.

Re: Isf callibration Panasonic G10

I can't see it voiding the warranty if done by an ISF person.
Each telly has it's own variations, so the new one would have to be done too.

ISF people recommend waiting a few weeks, because most tellies tend to fail early.

Just try to keep a tallyof how long it's been used for...around 150 +hrs should be fine for your set I'd think

Re: Isf callibration Panasonic G10

I would imagine it will be the mode that is nearest to correct in the first place.
That's usually "cinema".
I'd have thought they'd explain everything to you when they do it

Re: Isf callibration Panasonic G10

Yep, Cinema mode on Pannys is generally the best one to calibrate for reference viewing. The other memories can be useful for less critical situations e.g. broadcast tv during the day. And yes, we calibrators are usually more than happy to explain stuff as we go along
Cheers,
Iain

Re: Isf callibration Panasonic G10

Can anyone who has had there Panny calibrated tell is it worth it? I ask because the Panny's don't have the tweaks other sets do (Service menu)

If you want a more accurate image then only you can decide mate. But it will be better

Re: Isf callibration Panasonic G10

Some people are saying the picture tweaks on the G10 are limited even in the service menu,so can colour be calibrated as well as greyscale and have any ISF calibrators done the Panny.G10

Re: Isf callibration Panasonic G10

The adjustments on Vierra's have always been limited....but then Pioneers have lots of adjustments...many of which don't work as advertised.....you work with what you have...the question is can you improve the image. The answer is yes. The methods used to do it are pretty irrelevant imho

I think I've done a couple of G10's. Will need to go searching to see if I can find customer names.

Re: Isf callibration Panasonic G10

I think getting a G10 done is worth it for decent gamma alone, this makes a hell of a difference to the overall depth of an image.

Not individually but check out this thread to see what effect calibrating the greyscale can have on gamma. This chap's went from around 1.9 up to @ 2.2 after calibration
