| Re: Day/Night ISF Calibrations - How do they do it?
Personally I think that Day and Night is a very poor name for the two settings. As you have noted daylight changes considerably at different times of day and year. They are much better named as A and B or 1 and 2 or FILM and VIDEO or....you get the idea?
You by applying a little light control, ie closing the curtains/blinds, you will be able to get the room dark enough to carry out the necessary settings in order to optimise for controlled light conditions. I use the second available ISF mode to create an alternate colour and gamma accurate setting that may be more suited to other content on teh same input. For instance...You may have a PS3 on an input. BD playback and Games will require different calibrated settings. On a freeview tuner input the optimum settings for material recorded with a film camera will result in artefacts on material recorded with a video camera at times ...so, dependant on peoples viewing habits, you may end up with film and video settings on that input.
Forget the DAY and NIGHT idea, it's really a red herring
