Colour HCFR software crash?

I have just got a spyder 3 pro and have just tried testing it with the Colour HCFR software recomended in the article "Greyscale calibration for dummies".

I can get it to meter the light but if I go to some of the menus at the top the software just bails on me, I tried a different version and that did the same thing.

What I intend to use it for is calibrating a number of sony bravia s series screens at work to get them as close as possible given the limited settings it seems to have.

Any advice on how best to do it or advice on the software would be appreciated.

edit: forgot to mention I will be using a ps3 as the source.

Re: Colour HCFR software crash?

I thought the HCFR software was not compatible with Spyder3 (only spyder2 or Eyeone probes)?

Edit: Oops it does seem it now is supported:
Greyscale Calibration For Dummies

Maybe try the older driver as suggested.

Re: Colour HCFR software crash?

Thanks, I will have a read and see what they suggest. The new version is supposed to support it but i will have to try it out.

I tried the software on my home pc and it did not crash so I assume its a conflict with my work one. might have to try it on a laptop which would be more practical anyway
