Can I be done

I have just been introduced to this forum through an email by AV Forums. I have never heard of thisa and would like to ask what maybe obvious to you, but.
Can I be ISF calibrated if I have a CRT. I have a LOEWE Aconda, 5 years old. If so is it worth it because of it's age, can I do it myself if not what would it cost?
BTW I live in UK, Essex.

Re: Can I be done

given your equipment i wouldnt bother mate - save your cash to invest in some new gear.

You can get decent results by using the THX optimiser set ups on the Star Wars discs etc or, if you want to push the boat out a little further then invest in the Digital Video Essential's DVD (commonly referred to as the DVE disc) which will set you back £20 or so

Re: Can I be done

Great TV. I have done a few of them in the dim and distant past. It is massively off standard out the box. The last one I measured had a hugely blue greyscale...in fact it was the worst greyscale I ever measured on a display. However, once they are done they can be pretty good.

If you are planning on sitcking with it for a significant while then it may be worth having it done. If you plan on swapping it out for a new flat panel display then just hold off until then.

All the best

Gordon

Just wondering if you are still planning a trip to Northern Ireland in Aug. I have a Sony 32v2000 which needs calibrating. Also could you give me a rough idea of cost

Due to rule 7, Gordon will be unable to answer your queries directly on the forums. This area is for asking questions relating to ISF calibration, but not a sales area for calibrators. HTH.

Hello all

In case you've missed it Gordon (Convergent-AV) is on his way over to Ireland and taking bookings for ISF Calibrations (North & South).

See ISF in Ireland?
