This question comes up at least once every couple of weeks on here! Try searching the forum for "recover music ipod" - I guarantee you will find at least 20 threads on how to do this. Or look at question 6 in the FAQs in the sticky at the top of the forum.

If in the mean time, you just want a simple answer, use SharePod (google for it). It will allow you to see the contents of your iPod, and copy them to your computer. Once copied over, you can populate your iTunes library with the copied over music, then when you sync your iPod in iTunes, it will still erase your iPod, but it will put everything in your iTunes back on it - which is what you copied over from the iPod in the first place. It's the most stupid thing I've ever heard of and my biggest bug bear with iTunes, but this is one of the easiest ways, albeit long and round-a-bout, of doing what frankly should be so incredibly simple of things to do!

Bad Apple!
