Hey folks, a wee question for anyone who can help me,

i cant seem to send emails when i'm connected to 3g or edge, but when i'm in my house and connected to wifi then i have no probs, when i'm out and about i always get the messege "cannot connect to smtp.tiscali.co.uk" which is my outgoing server.

any ideas anyone?

have you actually got a data package on your contract/payg sim?

I'm with o2, i made sure i got free data everymonth when i took out a new contract, not with an iphone though, it was an lg, i then bought an ihone and put the o2 sim card in it, any ideas ?

ok check this -
settings
general
network
cellular data network

now you should have a screen which says cellular data
now make sure the settins are as follows
APN payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username vertigo
Password password

those settings are for PAYG

for monthly contract there are
APN mobile.o2.co.uk
Username vertigo
Password password

I just checked those settings, Thats the settings that are already there

You'll need to use O2's smtp server settings to send e-mail when using 3G/GPRS/EDGE. Sorry not an O2 user so I don't know what the setting is.
