Question, Questions !!

Hiya guys,
I haven't got an Iphone yet, but was looking in the O2 shop today and having a play around with it, especially the keyboard. Its better than I thought, as I do like to have a slide-out keyboard. (I have an XDA at the mo)

Anyway could you tell me if any of you have a problem with the touch screen when making a call...like would your face activate the screen when you have the phone to your ear, as I've heard that the screen cannot be locked

The iPhone de-activates the screen automatically when you are on a phone call....i.e. when the phone is near to your face.

Yeah, there is a proximity sensor by the ear piece that disables the screen when placed to the ear.

It's worth noting also that the screen does come back on automatically when you move it away from your ear, so if you need access to the keypad or any other application on the phone, it's right there.

Jailbreak it, and you wont have any problems with Bluetooth, Theres an app out there called 'iBluetooth' so you can send/recieve images & files. Not ideal i know but its more than what you could do before.

Hiya, I'm waiting couple of months to see what will happen to the tariffs on the older versions, or, if not too expensive go for the new version, but I thought I read that Jailbreak would not work on the newer version

Newer version, as in iPhone 3G or the unreleased 3rd GEN iPhone? Because you can jailbreak the iPhone 3G.

As for the next GEN one though, i'm hearing you cant either

im just staying hopeful that they will be able to do it. So just need someone to clear this up and see what they think about the dev team.

Another newbie question please...

I have heard that that it is not possible to customise the ringtones, so you only have the ones already on the phone and these aren't very good

Audiko lets you put custom ringtones on. You can pretty much guarantee you'll find one already made there you want.

Please search the forum before posting question as the very large majority of new questions have already been answered.

No probs, it is rather good. Even has screamo metal stuff on there that I like.
