No 3G On My 3G iPhone - Apparently!

I have a 16GB 3G iPhone.

I can get WiFi (when available) and Edge but I've never seen a 3G icon at the top of my screen.

How can I ensure that 3G is "on"?

P.S. My iPhone is a factory unlocked iPhone from abroad and I'm running it on an Orange contract.

Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G turn to 'ON'.

Not sure if you have to get Orange to do anything like enable 3G or if you need a specific 3G sim. Try the above and if it still wont work, try a sim in it that you know picks up 3G.

Re: No 3G On My 3G iPhone - Apparently!

Bit late on this one but I thought it might be useful...

I had the same problem when I first got mine about 3 months ago, despite going through all the settings and changing the APN etc. After calling o2 to tell them they could have it back, the guy noticed that a certain setting wasn't enabled on my account. He promised to sort it and within 3 or 4 days the 3g icon suddenly popped up, they also gave me a 2 month rebate as a goodwill gesture.
