Hello all

I have recently bought a Mark 5 VW Golf, which is fitted with the Nokia Bluetooth kit CK-7W. I have managed to connect the Iphone with the Nokia Car kit and every time the car is turned on the CK-7W connects to the Iphone 3G and the car stereo beeps with (Phone) displayed on the head unit. Bare in mind this is the standard VW Head unit.

Could anyone help advise on how to use the car kit with my Iphone 3G? Everytime I get a call the phone rings and I am unable to pick up calls from the Nokia CK-7W. Also when I make calls from my Iphone 3G the Nokia CK-7W does not pick them up - I have to stop the car to continue the phone call.

As for the phone kit ...

Its an aftermarket kit ( its a basic bluetooth kit )

You should have a dial with a nokia badge on it ... it also adjusts the volume.

This button can be used to answer and hang up - If I remember correctly.

Otherwise you have to use the answer and dial buttons on your phone...the kit IS very basic..

as for the vw radio - the 'phone' coming up on the display is just to tell you its muted (or possibly accepting the signal - would need to see the install)

Yes the button is on the dial. But when I recieve a call and press the button it doesn't seem to like it. Also when I make a call I use my Iphone to dial the number but I can't communicate using the bluetooth kit - so I have to stop the car and continue the phone call. Any ideas why this would happen?

Without knowing anything about the phone kit i'll hazzard a guess at saying that its not compatible with the iPhone. If it doesnt work straight away its very likely that theres nothing you can do im afraid.

I have the same Nokia kit in my van, also an iPhone 3G. I will check for you later and report back tonight after work if all is ok, and what my finding's are.

It is used for my work Nokia phone and never used it for the iPhone.

My wife's got one in her car and I sync'd my 2G iPhone without any issues and I use the "button" to answer and end calls.

I have managed to find the instructions manual on the internet - hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to sort this bluetooth kit out. Otherwise its gonna have to go.

I have to say it works fine. Can make and receive calls easy.

Hopefully it is just settings to get it working properly.

Also have a MkV Golf with the CK-7W & a 3G iPhone & it works fine via bluetooth.

Not much help I'm afraid but they are definitely compatible.

Hi - Thanks for your replys - I have tried to use it this weekend - however still have the same issues.

Does anyone know how to re-set it?

Also some advice on how to actually use it when you receive a call and make a call. Does the ringing come from the phone only or the car stereo when you receive a call? My phone rings only when I receive a call.

How do I use it when I want to make a call?

Have you paired your phone properly ?
Both will ring at the same time.

Try pairing again with 0000 as your code.

Thought i'd give you an update.

Over the weekend I had to restore my iphone - Dam Application crashed it. Well I did the restore and conected it with the Nokia bluetooth - and hey presto we have connected. Works like a treat.
