HELP iPhone won't turn on!!

My iPhone kept playing up. It kept closing down apps randomly so I did a restart, held down the sleep/wake button and the home button until the apple logo appeared. The logo dissapeared and now when I push the sleep/wake button it won't start up. HELP PLEASE?!!!

Please don't tell me I have knackered it!! I am cra*ping myslef!!

I know the battery aint dead as it was fully charged. I was thining of nipping home (from work) and plugging it into iTunes, but don't think that will achieve much as I can't turn the phone on!!

JUst hold down the power and home button together. That always kick starts mine back to life, sometimes takes a few go's

yep - as above - hold down for around 10-15 seconds and the iphone will be forced to reboot.

...unless of course youve accidentally knocked it into DFU mode in which case youll need itunes to restore it.

Try the ringer toggle button,
to make sure it not the screen that has gone blank,

if its not that then hold the power and home button and put it into recovery mode,
and then connect it to your computer....

this happened why back with my 2G,
all of a sudden the battery died even though i had it fully charge before i left,
if you got your charger with you,
plug it in for 10mins and see if the battery symbol comes up...

Who knew one little apple symbol would bring so much joy.

I hit sleep/wake and home simultaneously and it seems to be rebooting. I'm at home now so I might do a quick sync just to back everything up.

Hmmmm.. I think my phone did what it did because I performed a restore while the charger was plugged in.

I won't be testing that theory myself, lol. I scared myself enough today! I thought I had broken my £600 toy!!
