Will the O2 Pay&Go iPhone drop in price?

Just wanted your opinions about whether the Pay&Go iPhone prices will drop before the (likely) new model announcement next month.

I'm planning on buying a PayGo iPhone but I'm reluctant to shell out full price for what will (probably) shortly be an outdated model. I'm happy to buy the current model, it does everything I'll need, but it seems silly to pay out £350 if it will soon drop to £300 or even £250. The contract costs dropped a while ago but so far there's been no movement on the PayGo costs.

What do you guys think O2 will do?

TIA

No I dont think it will, the new model iPhone wont be offered on PAYG for a long time yet so they will use PAYG to shift the "old" handsets.

Thanks Hutch.

Do you not think though that they would need to offer us some kind of incentive to buy those "old" handsets, especially once the new model is announced?

I mean my impulse control is shaky at the best of times but even I'm thinking twice about it!

I think the idea is that not having a contract is the incentive I'm afraid.

Re: Will the O2 Pay&Go iPhone drop in price?

Thanks Ted.

I guess maybe the iPhone won't be for me then. I'm just not happy paying top whack for superseded tech.

Maybe I'll look into alternatives, really wanted mobile net access mainly. I barely use my phone, a few texts and calls, never pay more than £5-6 a month!

Which is why a contract is no good to me.

Ah well, thanks for all the help guys!
