Swirly MMS v2

I bought V1 ages ago, now i see version 2 is available in the cydia store.

As ive got a license for V1 do i get V2 for free ??

May sound a stupid question BUT its not coming up as a update

Yup you have to buy it.

IMO its the sort of thing they should give to existing customers. All they are doing is alienating thier existing customer base because as soon as 3.0 comes out a majority are just going to drop swirly all together and then forget about the company - I know I will.

If they gave away the free update then i may well continue using it and they would keep a much larger userbase.

Personally I think swirly are really going to struggle when 3.0 comes out. Do the new features really justify the cost? Before $8 to get the major MMS function was good value - to then pay $6 for just some extra tweeks - nah not for me. How anyone would think of spending $14 on it I don't know

IMO it was a bad move to charge existing customers of theirs to upgrade - it should have been available free to them.

All software works in this way, upgrades to the existing version are free but future versions have to be paid for.

Seems a strange time to do it though with 3.0 around the corner, maybe they are just trying to make some more money before nobody needs it any more.
