OS 3.0 and O2? MMS?

A bit worried that mms will only work with specific iphone sim cards once os 3 comes out in the summer. Anyone have any idea if mms will work with pay monthly sims (simplicity for e.g.)? I'm using a simplicity sim in my iphone so a bit worried!!!

Cheers,
Mark

Re: OS 3.0 and O2? MMS?

There is no reason that it wont work providing the carrier bundle is loaded to enable it.

Well using OS 3.0 beta 4 at the moment as testing out a friends app for him and MMS is not enabled for O2 at the moment via the sim - I'd guess you have to call up o2 to get it enabled right now

So I wonder if O2 will change their stance from their current position of refusing to acknowledge mms will work on the iphone (or refusing to allow legacy texts?). My guess would be customer service won't have a clue about os 3.0 yet.

Oh they knew about it as one of them there was on the dev program, they said based on the small print in the beta it states MMS can't be enabled yet, which is actually true without a hack so far enough really

Right so once os 3.0 arrives O2 should activate mms even on simplicity sims?

Not on mine it's not. Rang customer "services" and they said they couldn't even enable the sim to receive the legacy texts no matter how much I tried to persuade that they could and that they've done it before. Once OS 3.0 arrives and if I find mms doesn't work I shall be bugging them constantly until they sort it.

Re: OS 3.0 and O2? MMS?

I wonder if O2 will allow MMS messages to come off your bundle (like 1 MMS = 3 SMS or something). That'd be good.
