Unhappy New to iphone, help!!!

Hi All,

I've just bought an iphone 3G a week ago and had to take it back as it was faulty....
I've had my second iphone for a couple of days now and there's some stuff that i find a bit strange...

It only takes 1.5h to charge? Is this normal???
It went dead on me after a call, 19% of battery remaining... Should i be worried?

My missus also got one, her one has also died once and today i frozen and had to be restarted... Is this what i can expect from the iphone?
Should i take both back???

Thanks!!!

You could try to do a ful restore. Plug into itunes and select restore. If no change see about getting them looked at. As for the charge, I have the same results now and then but it seems to make no difference my end as I haven't had the cut out fault or anything.

Never rely on battery meters on phones, they can be deceiving. It is always best to do an overnight charge and then you can be sure it will be full in the morning. I get typically 2 days of use if I do not charge every day.

As for the crashing, a full restore may fix the problem. I had a problem with shrieking in calls and a restore fixed it (for now)

Re: New to iphone, help!!!

Everyone knows the battery life isnt amazing on an Iphone but theres no way it should go dead after 1 phone call!

As for the crashing id try a restore via itunes then run the battery all the way down untill the phone turns off, recharge fully then try again.

I get around 1.5 days use from a full charge and thats with me making calls and generally playing games and messing about with Wifi 3g etc etc.

If no different return them both.

Good luck and let us know what the outcome is

Re: New to iphone, help!!!

Hi All,

I've took my iphone to apple and got my questions answered...

They told me that it's normal for the phone to charge from 20% to 100% in 1.5hours, the first 80% is a quick charge method and the remaining 20% slower charge.

I had a problem with apps not loading and after doing some research on Google and taking the iphone to apple i got the same answer, sometimes 3rd party applications and the sync in itunes go nuts, it sort of corrupts the reg, i assume, the fix for this is disable that function in itunes and download a new app, that restores the drm and all will work... it did for me.

My battery is lasting about 3 days with medium usage and up to 5 with low usage. Pretty good... better than what i was expecting.

As for the crashing, after the restore it never happened again.

Apart from that all is ok now and i'm keeping my iphone.

Thanks everyone for your help!
