Text message counter

any apps , or a way of showing how many characters you are using in each text message?

eg 160 characters equals one text , on the iphone i dont have anyway of telling how many i am using so cant tell how many text credits are being used

If your jailbroken, bitesms has a counter that will tell you how many messages you are using, it doesn't actually count down from 160 but will start to count down from around 20 characters left. It's also a great sms app on top ;-) costs about £3.95 for a liscence but well worth it IMO.

It also has a counter for how man sms's you have sent in total that can be ret up to re-set at a certain point in the month so you can keep track of how many you are using from your tarrif.

It is possible that the addition of text counter is coming in the next firmware in the summer. I know that doesn't help you now though.

that would be cool, it's just annoying as i am hammaeoraghing my text allowance as a lot of my texts are taking 2-3 credits with out knowing.

If you send a blank text to O2 on 21202, you will get a text back telling you how many minutes and texts you have remaining.
