negotiating a deal with o2 for iPhone

The situation is I'm currently coming to the end of my contract with vodafone and was going to renew and get a Blackberry Bold or 8900, but I have always wanted an iPhone since I got a iPod touch. I do alot of Texting and Web browsing hence why I was getting a Blackberry, but I thought I would check the iPhone deals out first!

I'm looking to spend £45 a month and want unlimited text and internet, with about 600mins! I know vodafone do this for the blackberry's but is it possible to neogiate such a deal for an iPhone? Anyone managed to do this before with o2??

sorry if that was abit long winded

EDIT: just looked on the o2 website again and they want £7.50 a month for the unlimited text bolt on but still have to pay around £100 for the phone! Don't really want to do this! lol.

You won't be able to 'negotiate' a deal with o2, they are all set price plans for the iPhone.

Re: negotiating a deal with o2 for iPhone

I read yesterday on The Register that o2 are going to drop the phone charge in May in an effort to clear stock like they did the the first gen iphone

O2 to axe iPhone prices? • The Register

Being a "priority" (everyones probably a priority customer) O2 customer when I enquired about the iphone I was told there would be no discounts or negotiations if I wanted an iphone. Unfortunately while the iphone remains an O2 exclusive they can play hardball.

This is very much the case. I tried it when I got mine. Been with them for a good 6-7 years and probably spent nearly £10k in that time. I got nowhere! lol!

£45/month will get you 1200mins and 500 texts, with (of course) unlimited web browsing (free 8GB phone, or £60 extra for a 16GB)

So would this not meet your requirements?

I was thinking of renewing my vodafone contract and get a bold, but i am going spend the extra money and get the iPhone

Does anyone know when o2 stop having the rights to sell the iPhone exclusively?

I heard rumours that a new iPhone will be available this summer, and that it will also be available on other networks at this time.

Ive decided that im getting the 1200 mins and unlimited text bolt on, after i looked at how many minutes i use each month Be around £51 a month but better than vodafone would offer me with a bold! £50 for 900 mins unlimited texts and Blackberry Internet solution! Same as a new customer! Vodafone show no loyalty now days
