Cant hear people talking to me during phone call

Hi all

Looks a great site. Looked around, but cant see the answer to my problem. Really hope you can help.

I have a 2 month old 3G iPhone that was working pefectly having been jailbroken using s/w from iphoneunlockuk.com.

Last weekend I downloaded the 2.2.1 iPhone s/w update (by mistake!!!) and then it stopped working.

I used the s/w again and had to use a 'piggy-back' sim too, as the update closed the s/w only fix.

All is fine, except, I cant hear anyone talking to me on the phone!.

I can make calls and receive them - but either way, everyone can hear me, but I cant hear anything.

Everything else works, SMS, IPOD etc.

It has a full signal bar and is using vodafone sim.

Any help / advice ??

I know it could be the phone - so if I had to take this back for a replacement, what do I do so that they don't know it was jailbroken?

Thanks in advance
Cacker

You havent turned your speaker down while in a call have you? Call someone and while in-call press the volume buttons on the side of the phone.

If that doesnt work then restore in iTunes to see if that fixes it.

Hi and thanks for the quick reply.

The volume is on full and the screen displays "ringer" and the sound icon.

I can hear the phone ring and I can hear sound from YouTube etc, but not out of the ear piece when a phone call is made/received.

I tried a call and presses the speaker button but cant hear that either.

Should I restore through iTunes and try the unlock again ?

Thanks

Re: Cant hear people talking to me during phone call

mine did this the second day I got it, really worried that I'd bricked it as nothing seemed to fix it. came across a tip saying that if you go into settings and select the option to reset all settings it fixes it. worked like a dream and no problems since.
