A couple of questions about the "free Wi-Fi" on 02

Hi all

My first post in this particular forum...

I ordered an iPhone diect from 02 yesterday. The contract includes, for free, the "data and Wi-Fi" bolt ons. Basically, subject to fair usage policy, I get unlimited data transfer and use of Wi-Fi.

My question is how does this free Wi-Fi thing work? The site says it is free where you can connect to Wi-Fi which is provided by their partners, The Cloud and BT OpenZone. To clarify, could someone please answer me the following:

1) If I go into a Wi-Fi area in the UK which is provided by one of these partners, can I connect via Wi-Fi and not get charged for anything?

2) Are there any other providers in the UK which I may come in to contact with, and what would happen if I connected here? Is it clear what partner you are connecting to? I guess what I am getting at is how do you avoid being charged for connecting to something which isn't free?

3) Can you connect the iPhone to your wireless router at home for free?

4) I am going abroad later this year to Turkey, and the hotel apparatly offers "free Wi-Fi in every room". Can I therefore use Wi-Fi there for free? I know that you are meant to be charged for using Wi-Fi whilst "roaming". So would using your iPhone with Wi-Fi whilst abroad constitute "roaming" even if the Wi-Fi access in the hotel is classified as "free"?

Man thanks in advance everyone

1) Yes
2) I think you'd need an account or be registered with other providers...so it would be pretty obvious that this wasn't a Cloud/BT hotspot
3)Yes
4)Yes, if it's free WiFi, it won't cost you AFAIK
