Speakers + Clock Radio for iPhone 3G

Can anyone help?

I want to buy a piece of kit which will:

(i) Sit on my bedside table, acting as a clock radio

(ii) Charge my iPhone 3G

(ii) Will allow me to answer any calls handsfree (+ interrupt radio if on)

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Re: Speakers + Clock Radio for iPhone 3G

I have got the:

Sony ICFC1iPMK2

which is one of the few that actually charge the iphone and allow use of all phone functionality (i.e doesn't put it in airplane mode). I don't think it does the handfree answering though.

One slight problem with it is that the display is very bright, I solved this by getting some car screen tint which works a treat

Thanks for the reply.

What is airplane mode?

If you receive a call whilst your iPhone is docked, does it come through the speakers? Does it have a built in microphone to talk to?

Airplane Mode

Turn on airplane mode to disable the wireless features of iPhone on a plane.

* Tap Settings and turn airplane mode on.

When airplane mode is on, appears in the status bar at the top of the screen, and no cell phone, radio, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth signals are emitted from iPhone. When airplane mode is on, you can still do things like:

* Listen to music
* Watch video
* Check your calendar
* Take or view pictures
* Hear alarms
* Use the stopwatch or timer
* Use the calculator
* Take notes
* Read text messages and email messages stored on iPhone

When airplane mode is on, you can’t make calls, send text messages, surf the web, or check for new email.

Managed to solve this by putting a pair of socks in front of display, for a less radical solution try, a thong from the missus draw
you get a more see through glow

got this item from HMV, display model £40

works great would reccomend

On a side note, the iTunes app called 'Night Stand' is a neat looking bedside clock and has a built-in alarm clock too.

Re: Speakers + Clock Radio for iPhone 3G

Actually the car screen tint I used was a roll of tinted plastic which I simply cut to size and it sticks to the screen on the dock (in a similar way that the iphone screen protectors do).

Got some for a fiver from the bay, only needed a tiny square but now have a m2 left of the stuff.
If anyone wants some I'd be happy to send on, I would just need the postage covered.

Mods: this is not a sales thread just offering my help by charging postage cost only to give users of this dock a free item.
