Iphone, how not to brick??

I bought an iphone a few months ago and recently Ive been wanting to sell it. My girlfriends little sister is interested as her birthday is tomorrow.

Two weeks ago I went to Settings>Reset, it took about an hour and afterwards it was locked, un-jailbroken and de-activated.

It took me 6 hours to unlock and jailbreak as I knew nothing about them as I bought the phone second hand that was already unlocked.

So I know Settings>Reset will mess it up but what else should I warn her about as she is only 14 and I dont want her to mess it up.

Also Im trying to reset it to delete contacts, music, videos etc, how do i do this without doing what I did before.

Any help guys, i have to bring the phone up today.

should have deleted all the music when you did a full restore to factory settings ? if you do a restore it wont harm it youl just have a factory fresh iphone but it will be re locked i belive
