Google maps in miles for the UK?

clearly the iphone is made and set up for the yanks but can you get the google maps to show distance extra in miles not km? would be easier and things thats all

Nope kilometres well that's what it says when it's giving me distances to a certain place

i looked in to this a couple of months ago. apparently this can't be changed. it is a known issue for people in the uk.

Switch the language of your phone to English US and it will convert googlemaps to miles instead of kms

For the record, it's been switched to kms for the UK market as we're in the EU, where it's predominantly kms. The US uses miles.

ive tried doing the switch and no joy and thats very odd as the UK dont use km its mile its europe that may use km, they still should be an option or update for this im very surprised
