| Re: Want to play my ipod/phone through the car speakers
You have a few options then...
The cheapest is an FM Modulator. This plugs into the iPod/iPhone and transmits your music via a local, short-range FM signal. You tune the radio into that signal and listen to your music. Cheap, but crap quality.
The next option is an AUX adapter for your factory fit stereo. Prices vary and you'd need one for each car, unless one or either already has an AUX input? Not too tricky to fit and is removable for when you sell the car. This includes the HK option as swifty mentions above.
More expensive, but much better quality.
Another option is something like the Parrot MKi9000/9100/9200 which is an iPod and Bluetooth handsfree kit. Basically a normal Parrot BT car kit with an AUX adapter included. iPod plays thought this, mobile also connects to it via Bluetooth and calls come through and mute the stereo.
Prices vary depending on model, but quality is as good as the AUX input if not better.
The big plus side to this is you can control the music through the Parrot, which means you're not risking upsetting the cops by fiddling with your iPhone while driving, which is illegal.
There are other options and each option above can be expanded into loads of products, but those are your three big options if you don't want a new stereo.
