blank sreen when recieving a call???

Hi guys,
My 3G sometimes just shows a blank screen when receiving a call! there's nothing you can do to answer the call or see who it is.....the only button that works is the main round button and when you press this it just cancels the call. Anyone had this problem????

eard of that before. have you tried restoring the phone in itunes?

not yet, just wanted to check if this was a wide spread issue first.

If the case is not one made for a iPhone 3G then it can cover the sensor that tells when you have the phone to your face and therefore switches off the screen.

well yes it is a 3G case brought from the apple shop. But shouldn't the display work when receiving a call?? the way I understand it is the sensor only works when your in a call. Still don't understand why it works without issue for 90% of the time but every now and again it just shows a blank screen! I'll try a restore and see how that goes.

The case may not be a good enough fit and is covering the sensor some of the time. A restore would probably have no affect.
