Transfer of phone contacts between iphones

HI...
I am getting a new iPhone 16gb 3G delivered on Monday via the CPW website. I currently have an 8GB 2G one and I am wondering how I can transfer all my contacts.
When I connect to iTunes it syncs my outlook email contacts, but nowhere does it sync all my phone number contacts (that I can see!)

Surely I am not going to have to sit and input them manually am I?!

Also, can i have both iPhones connected to my same iTunes or will i have to delete the old one and just not use it?

Thanks for any advice.

I don't have an iphone (yet), but couldn't you save all the contacts to the sim card and transfer them that way?

Re: Transfer of phone contacts between iphones

Thanks for the quick reply - the thing is that I have unlocked the 2G one and am using it with an orange contract sim.

The new one is going to be with an O2 contract sim - new number and everything.

Also, I can't see an option anywhere for transferring the numbers to SIM like with a regular phone.

Cheers though.

Re: Transfer of phone contacts between iphones

No problem to have multiple phones on the same iTunes.

Are you sure your phone contacts aren't going into your Windows address book? I think they probably are.

But anyway, you can simply backup your old iPhone, and restore it to your new one.

How to replace an original iPhone with an iPhone 3G

You may then want to rename one to avoid confusion if you're keeping both (I'm not sure if restore restores the name that shows in iTunes).

If in doubt about how to backup etc, right click the iPhone in iTunes.

Re: Transfer of phone contacts between iphones

If you synchronise with Outlook, then as has been mentioned, you'll probably find that your numbers etc. are already being synchronised - have a look and check.

I have my 3G configured to sync with Outlook and it does the lot - email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses etc.
