How long does the IPHONE battery last before its replaced?

I am slightly concerned as when its in the car with the FM transmitter for ipod use its charging, when connected to the PC its charging, so I believe these batteries develop a memory, IE it never gets chance to go flat really or even half way. So how long should it last given you have to send them away?

They dont develop memories apparently and I read somewhere it'll take 350 odd cycles.

Can't remember what type of battery but I'm sure it's one of the types tht can't be over charged. Can anyone confirms this?

Just had a quick read up, they expect it to last atleast a couple of years before it may looses approx 20% of its capacity. They says this will take approx 400 full charges.

But that doesnt mean if you charge it when half full its counted as a full charge its still only counted a one half.
