Predictive text - Help!

I have googled this for the last half hour and cannot find an answer so I thought i would post here.

if I want to type a word and it is a non standard word the iphones predictive text feature will butt in and suggest something else - how do I stick with my word? This is driving me crazy!

Re: Predictive text - Help!

go to

settings-general-keyboard and you can turn off auto-correction if that helps?

otherwise, I resort to most other phones i've had with predictive text and repeatedly write the non-recognised word again and again before the iphone finally accepts it as part of the dictionary

Re: Predictive text - Help!

Press the "x" next to the word that pops up and it will leave your word in place

Re: Predictive text - Help!

you also do not need to press on the "x" anywhere on the screen works just as well

Try turning it off, rebooting, turning it back on and rebooting again. If your phone isn't jailbroken then restoring it in iTunes that should correct it.

If that doesn't work, then i'm really not sure.
