I was just wondering about the unlimited data and wifi you get with the iphone and if anyone has actually been notified about exessive use according to their terms!

Whats you average data usage a month over 3G/Edge?

i've not been notified of excessive use. i'm using my t-mobile flext 35 with web n walk contract in my iphone. i must admit, i probably use 3g less than i was doing previously (didn't have wifi on previous phone) because i'm at home most of the time...as a result, i just use my wireless broadband connection.

I've had my iphone 3g for about 6 months now, and i've clocked up about 604 megabytes received and 61 sent, and I'd have considered myself a heavy user.

I use wifi at home so I have no need for cellular network internet there.

I believe that the iphone internet tariff is genuine unlimited net usage, as long as you solely use it on the iphone and not use your sim in a modem on a laptop.


it would be interesting to see what the usage rates is for other people with iphone 3gs, to see exactly how much of a heavy user I am!

(I only get 3g signal over the east side of the isle of wight, so that might explain the low download rate)

When I had mine tethered whilst away with work, a night on the laptop used something silly like 3mb.
