iPhone announcements at Macworld: summing up...

Reading the live blogs...

No 32gb.
No iPhone nano.

However...

iTunes now DRM-free (80% today, rest by end of '09).
iTunes now available over the air, and can be put on PC just by syncing iPhone.
iPhone now compatible with iPhoto slideshows.

That's it, I think.

Yep, pretty much my thoughts too. Was really holding out for the 32gb, maybe longer battery life too... oh well.

I would have loved to get what we all WANTED.

MMS.

Turn by turn SAT NAV.

Copy & paste in browser.

Flash support.

I would have also loved to have an offical Microsoft IM rather than Palgrino and the like efforts.

Oh well.....

*****, but at the end of the day, we've had some good updates and some good additions to the apps store, they're under no obligations to keep throwing updates at us.

unless apple can make money from it, they're not going to introduce any new features.

itunes updates, woo-bloody-hoo.

They're only going DRM free because of the excellent competition from amazon

Glad I bought my iphone when I did in November now. Would have been pretty annoyed if I waited and got no new annoucements.

DRM free but at the cost of variable pricing. My money says the prices won't go down.

Re: iPhone announcements at Macworld: summing up...

Well, DRM free is a massive bonus for me, I can start buying from the iTunes store again, and I've just downloaded an album at work over 3G, which is a nice bonus too (album cost appears to be the same, even for iTunes Plus, no indication of variable pricing). I'm easily pleased maybe

Re: iPhone announcements at Macworld: summing up...

Quick question.....

So now i-tunes is DRM free (what's DRM anyway???) does this mean I can have my i-pod/i-phone 3G Sync'd on both my Laptop and desktop PC?

I know it's a real headache to copy your i-tunes to another computer that you own.

I think it just means that you can then copy that song to any device/computer that you choose to.

It’s also easy to upgrade your iTunes library to iTunes Plus. You don’t have to buy the song or album again. Just pay the 20p per song upgrade price.
