T mobile Iphone 3G won't connect to App store

A friend of mine has managed to get a fully unlocked iPhone 3G from Dubai (Italian import) which has the latest firmware and works fine with his T Mobile sim card in every respect accept when trying to connect to the App store which prompts him to connect to iTunes?
Safari works as does Goggle maps but the App Store and iTunes won't.
The APN details have been entered as per info in this forum but it still refuses to work.

Anyone ever had this problem or know how to resolve it?

Just to clarify, this phone hasn't been jailbroken or unlocked via software or using a sim adapter.

If the phone hasnt been synced to an itunes account the App Store wont work.

Thanks for the response Hutch, although my friend says that he has done this so it seems a bit strange to me.

Did you sort this out? I have a 3g iphone bought in the uk and I cant connect to app store on 3g yet I can access it on wifi. Im unlocked on T-mobile by the way.

Strangely I have trouble accessing app store on my macbook using my t-mobile usb modem.

Hello army74,

My friend who's having the problem is away on holiday at the moment so I don't know whether he's managed to sort it out yet or not but I'm guessing not as he would usually say something.

I'll ask him whether he's got it working when he's back and if he has I'll post the solution.

I spoke to my brother who is also on t-mobile and he can get onto the app store on 3g without any problems. It's a strange one

I can get on the app store using my t-mobile sim in a 3g iphone now, albiet intermittantly. Tech support didn't really have much to say as its an unsupported device.

Did you do anything to get it working or has it just done it by itself??

My friend has returned from holiday and has tried various things to try to get this working, but so far no joy.
He did try calling Apple for advice but was told that you can't connect to iTunes or the App store via a mobile network!

He then tried contacting Apple via email who suggested checking their FAQ...great support eh?

Hi

Was having the same issue and foudn this thread on Google.

I had no problem accessing the app store only a few days ago on T-Mobile, but not it persistently refuses to connect, despite all other online programs working fine.

Perhaps T-Mobile have blocked it? Or maybe Apple have blocked access from T-Mobile IPs?

Anyone know the underlying app store IP address?

I thought it might be getting blocked as well but my brother is on T-mobile and he can get on.
