Mobileme cancelled-where are my contacts?

Help,

Just deleted mobile me from my iphone as I think is crap, but all my contacts have gone as well, surely I dont have to stay with me to keep my personal details, help please folks.

Have you logged onto the MobileMe website to see if they are there?

Perhaps put MobileMe back onto your iPhone, make sure they appear again, then do a full-sync with something like Outlook on your PC (or Mail/Calendar/Address Book if you use OS X) to ensure you have them backed up.

Then you can remove MobileMe and re-sync.

Thanks for the advice but I will have to pay £60 to reactivate my me account first to get my contacts.

They should be in your address book if you have a mac. You have to alter the settings in iTunes for the iPhone to sync with the address book.

Well ive managed to restore my contacts from an older back up via itunes, but I still cant save them to outlook without turning of friggin mobile me and losing them. aargh !!!!

Any ideas please.
