New 3g iphone not recognised in iTunes

Evening all.

I have just bought a new 16gb 3g on PAYG.

Done the various bits to unlock and get it on Vodafone.

However when I plug it into itunes it says that it is not valid as it does not have an 02 sim in it, thus I can't put any music on it!!!

The answer is undoubtedly in the huge thread but I have read and searched but cannot find an answer.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

My firmware is 2.1 and my itunes is 8.0.2.20, I am using a Gevey-3g.

I believe that you have to put the iPhone into airplane mode if using a turbo sim then sync. If I was you I'd update to 2.2 jailbreak then use the iPhone Dev Team's unlock via Cydia, much easier than the turbo sim

Re: New 3g iphone not recognised in iTunes

Well the iPhone will not activate on any other sim but an 02 one.

So, you either need to:
  • Activate via a PAYG 02 SIM - But this is pointless, as you wont be staying on 02.
  • Jailbreak to Activate
On the second point, you should have already 'Jailbreak'ed the iPhone to install yellowsn0w. Therefore if you havent you will need to use QuickPwn 2.2.

If not, i would re-QuickPwn as this should activate the phone, without iTunes.

Oh, from your post you will be using a SIM Loader of some sort? Im not too sure on that front, but Jailbreaking should correct the problem.
