The BBC has announced that as of Nov 27th 2008 BBC 1 and BBC 2 will be streamed live over the internet, the statements says that "

From 27 November licence fee payers will be able to watch BBC programmes live wherever they are in the UK on their computers, mobile phones and other portable devices,"

Does this mean we may see an update to iPlayer that allows us to watch these channels live rather than just shows we have missed?

The BBC has been keen to support the iPhone and as we can already watch BBC shows via iPlayer then technically I hope the BBC will be able to do this.
