Question Do I need my PAC code before going to get a new iPhone?

I am waiting to get my pac code from Vodafone. Can I go to the O2 store this weekend and pickup a new iphone with a temp number OR do I need the PAC code in my hand to do the ph number transfer?

Thanks

ensyed, yes you can but an iphone with a temp number and port your own number across to O2 when you get your PAC #. I also came over from Vodafone and I have to say they were pretty quick to send it out. I had my PAC#, ordered over the phone, the iphone came the next day and by lunchtime the next day my number was on O2.

Re: Do I need my PAC code before going to get a new iPhone?

I bought my iphone and they told me I had 14 days to transfer the number over.

I was with Orange and they only send PAC codes by post so if you are with them allow a week for the PAC code once requested.

On the day of transfer they are that you keep your old phone off then they transfer call making then call recieving then text receiving and finally text sending. Mine started at 8am and the final part happened at 9pm the same night.

Re: Do I need my PAC code before going to get a new iPhone?

Thank you. I requested the PAC code from Vodafone on Tuesday and they told me 3-5 days...
So once I get my PAC code do I call up O2 and they will transfer the number over? Its not done on Itunes?
This phone is actually for my worse half :-)

I got the iPHone last November and i seem to recall entering my PAC code online as I was activating the iphone.....but not sure since it was a year ago.

Re: Do I need my PAC code before going to get a new iPhone?

Yes, if you can wait for it to come through the post, ( mine was two days from Vodafone ) Then give O2 a call and order your phone and give them the PAC code. As I said mine came the next day, had no temp number, but had my transfering number on the paper work. Then next day about noon my Vodafone went off the network and the iphone came on-line. All pretty quick really.

Also unrelated, the iphone had one stuck pixel near the apple logo when I turned it on. Went to the Carphonewarehouse and they changed it straight away, no arguing.
