email woes

Two email accounts on my iPhone. One gmail and one blueyonder. Can receive mail on both accounts. Can only send using gmail. When trying to send via blueyonder account I get a pop up box telling me the address is not valid. The only time it works is when I am connected to my home wifi. Any ideas how to resolve it?

This sounds like a relay issue... ISP's often restrict sending via their own SMTP servers, to connections hosted by them, or to authenticated users (explains why it works via WiFi, but not via the O2 network). This prevents illegitimate use by spammers...

If you go into the settings of the outbound smtp server on your phone, you can specify credentials to use in addition to the server name. If you pop your Blueyonder account details in here you should be able to send

Hope this helps...

Kelvin.
