AT&T have announced that tethering, ie the ability to use the phone as a wireless modem for bluetooth equipped laptops, will be introduced very soon (presumably as part of 2.2). I wonder if O2 will do the same in the UK?

It don't think O2's network would cope with iPhone tethering to be honest, similar to why iPlayer isn't available over 3G!

i think iplayer is banned by o2 themselves not because they cant handle but because it competes with there own services

plenty of other phones allow this basic functionality and the o2 network handles them fine

If they do allow tethering, I suppose it'll be an extra cost subscription.

Yes but what I was aksing is if it could be done using a wired connection between the iPhone and the computer and not just bluetooth.

Hi, just going through your equipment list... Are ou able to connect your iphone to vsx lx71 receiver? I have a vsx lx51 and I'm getting error I1 when i connect my iphone via usb

Just as a side note to the above. The lastest PDAnet allows USB tethering.
