Difference between 'browsing and wifi' ?

A quick dumbass question from me. I assume 'browsing' refers to using the phones sim and 3g to connect to the net and wifi is connecting via a router or public place.

The question is why would I want to use wifi? Surely the whole point of having a phone with the net like this is the ability to use its own capabilities to access the net - if it needs wifi most of the time i might keep my current phone and get a netbook instead

So is the 3g actually worth it? I tend to use the net a lot at home and work (both of which have wifi) and then may occasionally need it elsewhere.

Also - I'm under the impression that the iphone doesn't support flash - is this an issue in reality or not?

I'd second that O2's 3G network around my home and work is dreadful, you would think that Edinburgh would have a pretty decent network, but no.

Luckily the Wi-Fi coverage in town is excellent!

Maybe I travel quite a bit, and find the apps that provide real-time train/tube information etc. very useful. The update time on 3G is faster than Edge.
