I have taken apart my iphone and killed it!!!

Hi all
I have an unlocked iphone (2g), the earpiece speaker went a bit doo lally, so after reading up on t internet I thought I would have a go at pulling it apart, I now have an iphone in lots of bits and I cannot get it back together, can anyone recommend me an online repairer who will take the many bits and put it back together, I didn't think I would miss it but I am! PLEASE help me. I never thought I would get so attached to a piece of machinery like this.
Thanks
Gary

Bad move on your part, why do you think you have to send it back to apple to get your battery replaced?

Re: I have taken apart my iphone and killed it!!!

Hey man don't let people try wind you up on here. I would have done the same. Why pay £80 and be with your phone for a week + to get a £3 part replaced! Done the same with my PSP screen, N95 Mic. A lot of these things are very simple to do!

Sorry you muckd though (i woulodnt have done that :P lol)

There must be some decent instructions on the net about how it goes together and apart again.

Re: I have taken apart my iphone and killed it!!!

The 2G is notoriously difficult to service unless you are quite a serious techie.

I cant really suggest any more than searching google and taking your chances.

Because if you don't know what you are doing you risk having either a bigger bill, or having to bin the phone and buy a new one.

The £80 represents training and qualifications to repair a product and return it to you in perfect working order. Right now i bet £80 would seem cheap to someone who hasn't got a working mobile.

lol

i didnt knwo the 2g was harder to take apart.

no way is £80 worth it when you can get taught how to and actully do it in 25 mins (on a 3g)

Sorry mate .. I meant send it to me if you were going to throw it away!

Although, i'm pretty handy with most things so If I was in your situation I would definately have a bash at self repairing it.

As long as no 'special' tools were needed, I cant see it being that hard

I had a chat to a friend of mine and we think given your current level of knowledge this 'Special' Tool should do the trick.
