| Re: Iphone 3G not very well
There is only one app, that actually works, for MMS and thats SwirlyMMS (found on Cydia) and whilst yes, we should have got MMS as standard on the iPhone and shouldn't have to pay for it, I don't begrudge paying the £4.50 or whatever it is for the licence as it's something I would have found hard to live without! Probably more so than the lack of Bluetooth (The lack of bluetooth is a bit of a pain, but isn't something that was the most important thing when it came to choosing a phone - I do miss being able to quickly and easily send notes, docs, music, pics etc to and from my phone and my computer like I did with my Nokia connected to the PC via bluetooth, but such is life....)
Now I'm all wirelessed up again, I'm finding it very easy to send things to and from the iphone using wifi - I can send to the phone using the Airsharing app, which lets you use WIndows "Network Places" to set up a network location and view the files and folders in that app - and sending stuff to the phone on the desktop is as simple as drag and drop. And because it's JailBroken, I've installed MobileFinder (from Cydia, not the App Store version) which allows you to navigate the route and move, copy, rename and delete files from location to location - so I can easily send a file to AirSharing, then move it to where I want using MobileFinder - which is cool!
For example - if I'm on my desktop, easiest is to just plug the phone into the dock and even without iTunes, Windows allows you to browse and copy out the photo's from the camera roll you want. I can also then, with it still plugged in, use a program called iPhoneBrowser to view the phone folder structure and copy/move/delete etc file to and from the phone and computer... But, if I am on my laptop, I don't have a USB cable, I can use the wifi connection to work with the phone. So, I can use MobileFinder to look in the camera roll location, pick a picture I want, copy it, navigate to the AirSharing folder, paste it into the Documents folder within Airsharing, then open the AirSharing app, and the computer can see whats in it, and then copy the picture to my laptop. Then I can do with it what I want (ie, upload to phtobucket, or facebook etc.)
Doesn't work for multiple files, it's one at a time, but even so, it's still quite usefull....
