i just synced my iphone to a mac and lost all my contacts

hi there,

i just connected my iphone to my mac at work, i was trying to backup my contacts and calender, as i've been having problems (see my other post)

i ticked 'sync address book contacts' and sync with yahoo address. and ticked calender to sync with 'home'

i didn't tick any of the 'replace info on this phone' and so i thought that it would copy my contacts and calender to the mac and leave the stuff on the phone.

but it wiped all my contacts and calender info.

can anybody explain this to me? i guess it's me being stupid, but i thought it said quite clearly that it was going to put info on the phone onto the mac. why would that wipe all the info i was trying to back up?

can anyone help?

Hi,

I believe this is caused by a bug which means if you have entries in your OS X address book then iTunes doesn't know what to merge to ends up wiping the lot! I found out from bitter experience recently.

Not sure about the calendar though.
