I would probably put your sim in your old phone and make sure you have no diverts set up as the iphone is a little bit more restrictive with call diverts and length of time phone rings etc, when I first tried a Vodafone business sim in my iphone( which I normally have on divert to my personal phone ) I was unable to cancel the diverts and placed i in my nokia it made sure all diverts were deactivated

Otherwise go to settings>phone>call forwarding and make sure it is turned off ( or the settings you hope it should be at )

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

I had to sell my last 3g iphone as I had a rebelsim and updated to the 2.2 thus making the baseband update and render it useless. So i now see that many companies I think including the rebelsim company offering a newer 2.2 unlocking sim?
Does anyone have experience of this and if so do they now work. I see the Dev are looking to launch a software unlock soon.
Sorry but i really miss my 3g!! and would really like another but the lenglty t-mob contract stops me just getting one on o2!

you can software unlock the iphone 3g now. it was made available on new years eve. in order to unlock you have to update to 2.2 if the iphone is not already on 2.2.

Loads of people have successfully software unlocked the 3G, have a look at the 3G unlocking thread.

Yes, and it works perfectly. No need for any further faffing about swapping sims etc. The iphone is a much better phone after it's been jailbroken and unlocked

Is there an idiots and I mean idiots guide to the whole process anywhere ie the first step to unbreak the phone then how to install the unlock? I really don't want to screw with my phone unless I know it is a step by step process!!!!

Seems straight forward enough, I like the idea of not fannying around swapping sims like i was before!!. Now black or white iPhone?.

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

Got my Any-Network adaptor (V3) today to go with my T-Mobile sim. Keep getting a no sim message but I suspect that as my sim card actually says 'one2one' on it that I need a newer one! When I shove it in a Nokia I can get a full outdoor 3G signal so I know it isn't a coverage issue. I have a Gevey adaptor in my iPhone at the moment and that works fine but you have to turn 3G off or the signal drops out altogether (hence the Any-Network purchase!)

Will update when I get a new sim card or if anyone can offer any other advice?

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

UPDATE.
New sim card inserted, still doesn't work. Not even getting the 'this unlock device is ok to use' message. Have contacted Any-Network and await a response.

I guess I may have a faulty one.......

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

Keep us posted as I have been trying to contact them. I was promised a replacement for my Any-network card which will not work with a 3 network sim and I am still waiting 3 weeks later.
I have left a few messages on their phone but have heard nothing and the ticketing system they have on the website does not seem to get looked at much, if at all.
I hope you have more luck.

If I don't get a response soon I will be putting the payment in dispute on my credit card. I'm not that fussed if they don't replace it/ignor me but I'm not paying £31 for a bit of plastic!

With any luck I will be able to get a response from them and sort it out nicely......
