Mail help please with iphone.

Mail help please with iphone.

Can anyone help me...just bought an iphone the mail seems to work ok, apart from it dont seem to show attachments just says not downloaded from the server...im using my wi-fi at home...its only shows text? Im using a pop account is there some reason why i cant view the attachments?

Yeah all attachments have to be download unless they are small jpeg files wich show up straight away. No idea why apple have done this. Might be that they just dont want everyone downloading large files often.

I have my account set up to use Imap and can get attachments fine, Word, Excel, PDFs and JPEGS. Does this not work when usiing POP?

Tried to set my Mac up using Imap but could"nt get it to work might have another go!! With pop i can get some attachments if they are smallish but not all very disapointing!!

If you are trying to use IMAP your email provider must support it, most web mail like Yahoo and Hotmail doesn't, but you should be fine if you own your own domain or have a paid service or are using your an email account you got from your ISP.

Also remeber that the incoming mail server name will be different if you set it up as IMAP.

Im with sky broadband and use a sky.com mail address, they use Gmail i think

my pop account works fine on my Mac just not on the iphone..when i try to set up an imap account on my Mac through Apple mail it dont reconize the username and password for some reason even tho i have a pop account using the same user name and password..its really doing my head in..is there another way round this problem on the iphone using pop?
