Simplicity to Iphone Monthly Contract

Hi, can you please help, have spent all day in O2 shops and nobody has the answers. I find the staff very under trained, but whats new.

1.If I change from simplicity to an 18 month Iphone contract can I keep my current mobile number.
2.My simplicity bill is due on the 25th, I pay on the 8th, if I upgrade today will I pay my full £15 monthly simplicity amount or will that be apportioned.
3.How long before I get my first iphone bill after buying, when is payment due and if I go on a £35 contract do I pay for more than the first month?
4.Where is it best to get the iphone if upgrading from simplicity, O2 shop, O2 online, O2 telephone, Carphone Warehouse or Apple.

Hope somebody can help.

Re: Simplicity to Iphone Monthly Contract

I did this when I upgraded to the iPhone Monthly contract

1. Yes you should be able to keep your current number. I was with O2 but my provider was Carphone Warehouse and I still kept my number, but had to live with a temporary one for a few days.

2. Probably but when you upgrade you should be told.

3. Yes you normally pay slightly more than £35 depending on when you take out the contract. My first bill was for £38 and some change.

4. You can't upgrade at an Apple store - new contracts only. I would try O2, I did mine with CPW (never again!) over the phone but only because I had my original contract with them. I would rather do it in a shop, at least you can get a name etc if anything goes wrong. I only did mine over the phone as the shops never had any.

Re: Simplicity to Iphone Monthly Contract

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Its been a nightmare of a day, customer services recommend waiting until my simplicity bill is due to end at the end of the month now?

You say they O2 should be able to tell me if they pro rata simplicity, 3 O2 shops today, you could tell they have no idea, one actually told me to ring O2 as they don't deal with billing in the shop!

Much appreciated.

I can imagine your frustration - I had a nightmare trying to get mine but I persevered and when you get the phone you'll realise it's worth it. Have you tried giving O2 a call??

Problem with the staff in the shops is that are not really interested in helping you out - and who can blame them when they get paid peanuts.

Tried over the phone and couldn't really answer my questions as I hadn't yet bought an iphone but recommended waiting until my bill is due, buying the phone and ringing back.
