so the 3g iPhone is coming to pay as you go in a few days, but at the moment i'm on a normal O2 contract, so won't need a pay as you go sim. will i be able to stick in my O2 sim and still be able to surf via wi-fi in free hotspots?

i dont think so, on the 02 website it says to use the free wifi and mobile internet you will need to use the simcard supplied with the phone.

Your sim will probably work for normal call though.
