apple download locations

where does the software updates get downloaded to when you accept the apple default

looked in my itunes folder

downloaded firmware 2.1 and cannot find it

Search for "*.ipsw". This will show all iPod/iPhone updates on your computer.

You will find them in the following location on Windows Vista and probably similar on other machines:

C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

still cannot find it

but when i connect the iphone it tells me an update is available and if i click update the program starts so it must be somewhere

had similar issue before could not find AppData file

pasted your address into my address bar and changed chris to mainpc
